Give every student an opportunity to learn and thrive like their peers with the new NCCD360 features. In response to high client demand for simplified NCCD recording, we’ve introduced ‘Imputed Disability’ and ‘Individual Education Plan’ features to help maintain compliance and streamline NCCD submissions.
Imputed disability checklist
An imputed disability is when a student is treated as if they have a disability, even if it hasn’t been formally diagnosed. This may be because the school reasonably believed the student has a disability based on observed needs and professional judgement and/or the student receives adjustments or support consistent with what a student with a disability would receive. This concept comes from the disability discrimination act 1992 which protects students from discrimination whether they have a formal diagnosis. To give every student the same opportunity to learn regardless of diagnosis, NCCD360 has introduced an “Imputed disability checklist.” The purpose of this feature is to capture information and evidence that supports their decision to impute a disability, ensure compliance with legal and educational requirements and documents the reasoning for why a student qualifies for NCCD support.
Individual education plan
The new Teacher-Created IEP feature in NCCD360 allows classroom teachers to directly develop and document Individual Education Plans for each student within the platform. This streamlines the process by capturing strategies, goals, and adjustments at the source, ensuring the IEP reflects the teacher’s firsthand knowledge of the student’s learning needs. By enabling teachers to create IEPs directly, schools strengthen the accuracy and timeliness of their records, enhance collaboration between staff, and ensure they have robust, evidence-based documentation to support both student outcomes and compliance with NCCD requirements. Teachers can then regularly review the goals and strategies identified for each student, track progress over time, and adjust supports as needed. This continuous cycle of review and refinement helps ensure that IEPs remain current, relevant, and aligned with the student’s evolving needs.
Conclusion
Together, these new features in NCCD360 empower educators to make informed, evidence-based decisions that are timely, accurate, and centred on student needs.
By using the Imputed Disability Checklist and the Individual Education Plan tools, schools can confidently document their professional judgment, streamline compliance with NCCD requirements, and most importantly, deliver targeted support that leads to better outcomes for all students.
